Lessons
Lesson 1: Introduction to Trigonometry
Students define Trigonometry, and describe properties of a right-angled triangle.
Students identify the use of right angled triangles in the context of the real world.
Students identify the name of the sides in a right-angled triangle for a given angle.
Lesson 2: Introduction to Trigonometric ratios
Students define Trigonometric ratios, and identify the three ratios – sine, cosine, and
tangent ratios
Lesson 3: Trigonometric ratios in similar right-angled triangles
Students compare trigonometric ratios for a given angle in similar right-angled triangles,
and verify that they are equal for corresponding angles.
Lesson 4: Finding the length of an unknown side in a right-angled triangle
Students will find the lengths of unknown sides in right-angled triangles with a given
angle using digital tools such as a calculator
Lesson 5: Finding unknown angles using trigonometry
Students use trigonometric ratios sine, cosine and tangent, to find the size of unknown
angles in right-angled triangles including in degrees and minutes.
Lesson 6: Solving practical problems involving trigonometric ratios
Students learn to interpret practical problems, and illustrate appropriate diagrams to
represent information given in questions
